Gluten-Free Hungarian Cheese Biscuits

In Hungarian this is called: pogacsa [poga:cha], and I can’t help it but it’s one of my favorites. I prefer these over any kind of bread. These small bites can be packed up easily and they are tasty when they are warm, right after you take it out from the oven, or cold as well. Originally it is made of white flour but it’s also delicious with gluten-free oat flour.

Ingredients:

  • 5.3 oz (150 g) butter
  • 12.3 oz (350 g) farmer’s cheese
  • 8.8 oz (250 g) gluten-free oat flour
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon dry yeast

Instructions:

  1. Put all the ingredients in a bowl, mix them well. It’s going to be a bit sticky, so you can add some gluten free flour until it loses its stickiness.
  2. Flatten the dough with a wood rolling pin.
  3. Cut it with a biscuit cutter.
  4. Place them on a baking mat.
  5. Brush the pogacsas’ top with some egg yolk.
  6. Put it them into a preheated oven (370°F) for 13-14 minutes.
  7. Enjoy. 🙂
